Waters, chair of the House Financial Services Committee,\u00a0wrote that her committee will \u201chold the appraisal industry fully accountable\u201d for systemic racial disparities, citing studies\u00a0from researchers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-09-21\/race-gap-in-home-appraisals-has-doubled-since-1980?sref=A1Z2GUXp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Junia Howell<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-04-01\/pay-check-podcast-episode-4-how-disparities-in-homeownership-persist?sref=A1Z2GUXp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Elizabeth Korver-Glenn<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/WrittenTestimony_APerry_2.24.21_Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Andre Perry<\/a>.
