Last November, the House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act (BBBA)<\/strong><\/a>, including the largest investment in local fair housing enforcement, $10 billion for First Generation Downpayment Assistance, and $5 billion dollars for the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act \u2013 recognizing the critical role that stable housing plays to ensure every family has access to opportunities that help them thrive and contribute to their communities and our national economy.  However, the Senate has yet to take up the measure delaying passage of an important priority of the Biden-Harris Administration.  Failing to include the housing investments in the BBBA would be a grave disservice to our nation\u2019s urban and rural communities that are overwhelmed by rising housing costs.  The American public expects policymakers to address our nation\u2019s housing crises and the Build Back Better Act is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do that.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
