By \u201chere,\u201d we mean a nation segregated largely along racial and ethnic lines, with opportunities in abundance in some communities and severely or wholly lacking in others. Children do not go to lower quality schools by choice or eat unhealthy food because that is what they like. Children go to different quality schools and eat different quality food because that is what is available to them. Segregated communities do not exist by accident.
